Distribution: Temperate and subtropical Northern Hemisphere, especially Mexico (over 150), China (over 150), and Mediterranean, montane areas of tropics, Peru (1). The genus is very polyphyletic, with an option that only the type S. acre would belong in a monophyletic Sedum.
